I’m kicking myself, because I absolutely loved WELL MET by Jen DeLuca and I waited WAY too long to read this book. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this delightfully smart, sexy Ren Faire rom com.Well, I am kicking myself. Especially Captain Leather Pants! There were a ton of swoon-worthy moments that will melt your heart. It also has a great cast of characters and it was fun getting to know them and their Faire alter egos. Well Met has no shortage of kilts, bad accents, and wooing. Their chemistry was off the charts, but this was definitely a slow burn! Simon was always so uptight and cranky and Emily was constantly pressing all his buttons.

They were either shooting daggers at each other or flirting with so much innuendo the entire time and it was hot! There was one scene in particular where I was just sitting there like DAMN. I was loving the banter between Simon and Emily way too much. Plus, there were so many bad Shakespeare jokes so it was easy for me to get into it. Total Nerd Galore and the bookworm in me was loving it.

I’ve never read anything about Renaissance Faires before so this was new territory for me, but I dig it. That’s basically my theory when it comes to finding great books. Honestly, when a book gets me with the first line, I’m probably going to love it. There was so much delightful banter and the tension between Simon and Emily was insane. Huzzah! This book was absolutely cute, sexy, nerdy, and funny in all the best ways. This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can’t seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they’re portraying? Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she’s in her revealing wench’s costume. The faire is Simon’s family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn’t have time for Emily’s lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. All’s faire in love and war for two sworn enemies who indulge in a harmless flirtation in a laugh-out-loud rom-com from debut author, Jen DeLuca.Įmily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?
